People often use this cute blue fish emoji either as a meal or as an actual animal. The fish can be generally described as facing left, light-blue, with a white underside, with prominent fins and gill covers. It is also possible to use the fish Emoji metaphorically to express, “There is something fishy about this.”

Next on our list is the Tropical Fish emoji. In 2010, they also included Tropical Fish Emoji in Unicode 6.0, which made it a fully-qualified emoji. Embedded in the emoji is an image of a blue and yellow tropical fish facing left. But the color of the Tropical Fish emoji varies in every device, application, and operating system. At the moment, this emoji is the 433rd most popular one on social media. People use this Tropical Fish emoji to represent fishing, pet fish, aquarium, and even vacation. 

  1. Blowfish Emoji

The third fish emoji on our list is the Blowfish emoji. In case you do not know what a blowfish is, a blowfish can change its shape to defend itself from predators. They considered blowfish as one of the most poisonous fish despite their cute appearance. They created blowfish Emoji in 2010 and became an official emoji as part of Unicode 6.0 in the same year. This emoji shows a round-shaped orange fish, but in other applications or operating systems, this emoji could be in brown.

  1. Shark Emoji

This emoji shows a gray shark with a white abdomen, many teeth, and a pointed nose. In some applications and devices, the shark emoji has three gills some do not have. It can refer directly to the dangerous fish, though people use this emoji in reference to danger, threat, or something deadly in general. They added the shark emoji to Emoji 3.0 in 2016 and included it in Unicode 9.0 in 2016. This shark emoji is one of the most popular animal emojis even up to this day. 

  1. Whale Emoji

They also created an emoji for one of the biggest animals on earth, the whale. A big, white underside and a big mouth distinguish this giant marine mammal. The 514th most popular emoji on social media platforms is currently this emoji. The whale emoji appears to be a humpback whale in certain apps or devices, while it appears to be a blue whale in other operating systems. As part of Unicode 6.0, the Whale Emoji became a fully-qualified emoji in the year 2010. Unicode 1.0 added the whale emoji five years after they introduced it.

  1. Spouting Whale Emoji

Aside from the whale emoji, there is also the spouting whale emoji. This emoji shows a blue whale spouting water from its blowhole. It has a round body, upright tail, and white underside. This emoji displaying a whale spouting water symbolizes happiness and cheerfulness. In the past, the spouting whale emoji was in gray, but now, it is in the color blue. Emoji 1.0 introduced Spouting Whale in 2015. It was first included in Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.

  1. Dolphin Emoji

Do not forget to include one of the friendliest animals in the ocean, the dolphins. The dolphin emoji shows the ability of it to jump high into the air, bringing out its uniqueness. In most cases, the dolphin is the emoji representing aquatic creatures. People also use this emoji to represent the ocean or the aquarium. In other apps like WhatsApp and Facebook, the dolphin emoji is in the color gray. Microsoft and Samsung were also like that, but they changed it to blue. Just like the spouting whale emoji, the dolphin emoji was first included in Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.

  1. Octopus Emoji

Number eight on our list is the sea creature with eight tentacles, which is none other than the octopus. This octopus emoji generally appears facing front, with large, pointed heads, tentacle-like arms, and striking eyes. The octopus emoji is one of the emojis that has different colors in other applications, devices, or operating systems. You can spot this emoji in orange, pink, red, and even violet. Social media platforms rank this emoji at 342nd place. Just like its other sea creatures emoji, they included the octopus emoji in Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added it to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.

  1. Lobster Emoji

The last sea creature on our list is the recently added emoji, the lobster emoji. Unicode 11.0 added the Lobster Emoji to the Animals & Nature category in 2018. Because this is a brand new emoji, it will probably not appear on most devices. A lobster is an unusually common use but it does show diversity and uniqueness.
