Global live streaming service Uplive and the style e-commerce Hekka Fashion, took New York Fashion Week by storm this week with an event filled with talent, celebrity guests and more live streaming than ever before!
Uplive is a popular social networking app that allows users to broadcast their content live and connect with supporters. Unlike other popular streaming services, Uplive focuses on harnessing talent, positivity, and diversity – core values that have helped them amass more than 260 million downloads worldwide.
What is more, the brand hosts annual events to support causes and initiatives – this year they broadcasted New York Fashion Week live to all the fashionistas out there. During the pandemic, the Uplive community became vital in supporting small and independent creators in music, arts, and fashion. The commitment to representation, connecting users across the world and supporting their communities, made the app a living example of overcoming adversity through working together.
The event saw them partner with Hekka Fashion – an emerging fashion retail platform – to host a see-now-buy-now runway showcase, an awards ceremony, and an immersive entertainment programme, all live streamed on their app. Talented artists, celebrities and guests enjoyed the show and got to share online their style for the event, highlighting the importance of diversity and representation.
Among the celebrities who attended the Uplive x Hekka Fashion NYFW 2022 RUNWAY SHOW was international model, author, and public figure Maye Musk, who has appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine and worked as an ambassador for CoverGirl at the age of sixty-nine, breaking the stereotype that age is not celebrated in fashion. She appeared at the show wearing Keppi X Hekka new collection.

After the event, Uplive will host the New York Fashion Week Talent Awards – a ceremony that aims to select and reward the most talented fashion personalities from around the world. Hosted online for second year running, the Awards saw models, influencers, celebrities, and fashion artists compete for the Top Fashion Awards Title and other rewards such as New York Fashion Week experience passes, the chance to perform on the runway, cash, and more.
Uplive and Hekka Fashion are both part of Asia Innovations Group (AIG). This is the latest effort from AIG to celebrate talent and diversity and boost the global creator economy. The Group has a diverse portfolio that delivers tailored products to mature and emerging markets globally, stimulating local economy and community development.
