Ever since the fifth season of All American concluded in May of 2023, fans have been eagerly anticipating the start of season 6 to discover what happens next.
Season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy, season 12 of Chicago Fire, and season 7 of 9-1-1 were all delayed in production due to industry-wide actors’ and writers’ strikes, which unfortunately lengthened the wait between episodes of the popular CW series and other highly anticipated programs.
Now we return to All American. An official release date has not been announced for the coming-of-age series, unlike the other shows mentioned. Season 6 of All American and season 3 of its spinoff, All American: Homecoming, have yet to be confirmed by The CW, in contrast to the return dates announced by ABC, Fox, CBS, and NBC for their flagship programs. Actually, both shows were conspicuously missing from The CW’s 2024 programming announcement, which was made in the middle of December. The sole item scheduled to air on Monday nights is the documentary “I Am Martin Luther King Jr.”, which is scheduled to premiere on January 15.
With everything out of the way, how is production on new episodes of All American coming along?
What time is the premiere of All American?
The Hollywood Reporter states that All American and All American: Homecoming will both return for fresh seasons in the summer with thirteen episodes each. The new season will likely start in April. If the April date is accurate, then fans will have to wait a few more months to find out what happens next with Daniel Ezra’s Spencer and “The Vortex.” Official release dates have not been confirmed yet.
In the fifth and final season of All American, what transpired?
Efforts to move on from Billy Baker’s (Taye Diggs) death were finally bearing fruit by the time season 5 came to a close. Spencer and Oliva, played by Samantha Logan, are probably on the road to reunion after they admitted their affections for each other. With Oliva’s acceptance into a cultural exchange program that will temporarily transport her to London, the couple will face some intriguing dynamics as they consider the trajectory of their romance.
Next up are Layla (Greta Onieogou) and Michael Evans Behling (Jordan). After years of trying to get the young music executive to come clean about their connection, the eternal romantic finally succeeded, and he proposed. Even though he’s only a sophomore in college, Jordan is already engaged for the second time after his proposal, which she surprise accepted.
Tragic events befell the Baker family house amongst all the love. Miko, played by Courtney Bandeko, stabbed Patience, played by Chelsee Tavares, in the last moments of the fifth season finale, leaving her bleeding on the floor. Regrettably, Bre-Z’s Coop was in route to see Patience to confess that she harbors lingering feelings for her former. A matter of life and death seemed to have taken precedence over Coop’s major announcement.
If you’re looking for something to watch while you wait for All American season 6, seasons 1–5 may be found on Netflix in the US and ITVX in the UK.
