Superstar Kamal Haasan has voiced his immense pride in the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ‘Amaran’, following its prestigious nomination for the Golden Peacock Award in the International Competition at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The festival is scheduled to run from November 20-28.
Taking to his X handle, Haasan celebrated the film’s success, which includes being selected as the opening feature film in the IFFI’s Indian Panorama section.
“Proud to share the immortal Major Mukund Varadarajan’s story that stirred India’s soul will now echo across the world,” Haasan wrote. He added his delight about the Golden Peacock nomination and the Indian Panorama opening slot, extending his gratitude to the jury and congratulations to other nominees.
The Tamil action war film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, features Sivakarthikeyan as the heroic Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi as his wife. ‘Amaran’ is a notable inclusion in the Indian Panorama, which saw the feature film jury select films across various Indian languages and regional cinema traditions from 516 contemporary entries.
