Are you going on a resort trip with your family this summer?
In the wake of the pandemic, couples, families, and adventure seekers are flocking to vacation destinations around the world. There’s nothing more enticing than kicking back on the beach at a luxury resort right about now. Once you’ve relaxed for a few days and enjoyed all of the sightseeing your destination has to offer, you might be looking for a new activity.
In this post, we’re going to tell you about 3 unique sports that you’ve just got to try on your next resort trip. You might not have played these at home before, but you’ll undoubtedly bring them back with you after you spend hours of fun at the resort.
1. Paddleboarding
You’ve probably seen people paddleboarding on vacation before, as it’s become one of the most popular resort activities around. It’s basically a cross between surfing and kayaking. It looks really difficult, but it doesn’t take long to get a handle on it, then you’ll be ready to have hours of fun.
The beauty of paddle boarding is that you’ll easily be able to find rentals at any resort or better if you have your own portable kayaks.
2. Pickleball
While paddleboarding is a bit of a solitary sport that the entire family can take or leave, pickleball is competition for the whole family, from the youngsters all the way to grandma and grandpa. If you’re not familiar with pickleball, you’re not alone, but it’s a growing sport that has its origins in the backyards of Washington state. Now it’s popular across the entire country.
Basically, pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with a whiffle-like ball and a ping pong-style paddle. Head pickleball paddles appeal to a variety of players, from beginner to advanced. You can find a thorough description of the rules here, but you can think of pickleball as a mix of tennis and volleyball.
3. Yoga
Not everyone views yoga as a sport, but it’s a physical activity that just about anyone can participate in, so we think it counts. If you’re in a gorgeous place at a beautiful resort, you’re not going to find a more relaxing setting. Yoga is all about finding peace and solace in the natural world.
If you’re on vacation to get away from the stresses of everyday life, then why not stretch out on the beach with a few of your friends or family members and try out some beginner poses? Many luxury resorts are even offering yoga classes these days because there’s no better way to start your day than with a sun salutation, some breathing exercises, and a few easy poses.
Planning Your Next Resort Trip
Now that you’ve got a few ideas for hanging out on the beach, it’s time to start planning your next resort trip. When you’re with the people you love, in a beautiful place, playing fun, exciting, and relaxing games, then how can it go wrong?
