Form W-2 (“Wage and Tax Statement”) is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax document used in the U.S. for recording compensation charged to workers and taxes withheld. Employers may fill out a Form W-2 as part of the working agreement with each person to whom they pay a fee, benefit, or other benefits. An employer may send the Form W-2 to workers on or before January 31. This time-limit allows these taxpayers around 2 months to file their returns until the due date of April 15.
