Pakistan Super League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league, formed in September 2015 with five teams and now comprises six teams. Instead of operating as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors. The PSL season runs between the months of February and March. Schedule of PSL 5 is with each team playing matches in double round-robin format; the top four teams with the best record qualify for the playoffs and culminates in the championship game, the PSL Cup Final. The league is directed out of the Pakistan Cricket Board head office in Lahore. Due to security reasons, the first season was played entirely in the United Arab Emirates. The inaugural champions were Islamabad United. Peshawar Zalmi were the 2017 PSL Champions, having defeated Quetta Gladiators in Lahore on 5 March 2017. Islamabad United were the 2018 PSL champions, beating Peshawar Zalmi on 25 March 2018. The current champions are Quetta Gladiators, who won the title on 17 March 2019 in Karachi.
If you love sports, you are probably interested in excelling in this field. To be successful you need skills developed with patience and determination. However, you must also consider other aspects to become an excellent sportsman. Technical and physical skills alone can go a long way, but you will never reach your goals without the right attitude and team spirit.
Set ambitious but realistic goals. To excel in sports, you need to aim high. This doesn’t mean that you don’t have to be realistic, or that you have to believe you can become a professional in a year. On the contrary, you should look in the mirror and find out who you are, to understand where you would like to go. Give yourself all the time you need to achieve your goals and divide the distant goals into a few smaller steps.
Learn to be sporty. Physical strength and speed are not enough to excel in sports. To become really big, you have to apply your positive attitude to the way you treat other players, even if they are opponents. After a defeat, accept that you have lost and show your respect for the winners. [2] By giving the right example of sportiness, you will receive the same treatment when you win.
Be patient. Regardless of your discipline, it takes time to develop physical and technical skills. There will always be someone better than you, at least in the beginning. Impatient athletes are often unsuccessful. Without the right amount of patience, you will try to move to the most advanced techniques before being really ready and your motivation will be less when you do not see immediate progress. Keep in mind your long-term goal and never give up until you reach it.
Accept criticism. Negative judgments are inevitable when you play a sport. Whether they come from the coach, other players or spectators, you have to consider them with common sense. Is the person who scolds you angry at you because you missed a passage or do you really want to help yourself improve? Learn to distinguish constructive criticism from offensive comments. In many cases, you can use criticism as a motivation to improve your weaknesses.
Cultivate friendships with other players. One of the main reasons why people join a team is to make new friends. Being part of a team, you will certainly meet many people. You will likely develop friendly relationships with at least some of your companions. Prioritizing these friendships is a wise choice if your desire is to become good at a sport. In fact, you can train with friends in your free time and playing with them will improve your morale.
Have a good time. You can turn your desire to excel into a sport into an obsession, to the point of losing sight of the reasons that led you to try to improve. If you don’t like the sport you play, you will lose motivation in a very short time. During competitions or in training, try to remember the reasons why you do sports, for example the natural satisfaction caused by physical activity and the beautiful moments spent with friends. Join a team . If you want to become a sports star, the best way to start is to join a team. Even if your skills are not excellent at the moment, you can improve a lot by participating in an amateur league. You will find teams in all cities and in most cases you can sign up for free. If you still go to school, try to follow school sports programs, or approach one of the local sports clubs.
Look for a great trainer. It is impossible to define the specific traits of the perfect coach. Some personalities adapt better to yours than others. The best scenario is to have a coach who really wants to see you achieve success. In the early stages of your career, enthusiasm is often more useful than technical knowledge.
