Asking a teenager if their mother is really an older sister is a tried-and-true cliché. Typically, it comes from the most sleazy character in a romantic comedy and is the most cringeworthy pickup line. To be honest, we were wondering the same thing when Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise celebrated Holmes’ 45th birthday out recently. They look exactly alike; her daughter is 17 years old.
I don’t think this is really shocking. Since Suri was a tiny girl, the two have been twins. (Think we’re crazy? Behold the photograph that follows. However, as time goes on, they appear increasingly similar. Since they shared the same striking features—long dark hair, large eyes, and prominent cheekbones—we believed we were seeing double when they arrived at the birthday party in New York City looking absolutely stunning.
Suri frequently sings on the soundtracks of the films in which the Dawson’s Creek alum and her daughter have collaborated as of late. She’s incredibly gifted. “She promised to do it, so she recorded it, and I just let her do it,” the pleased mother told News source last year.
Holmes expressed her desire to continue this practice when she told Glamour that she hopes Suri continues to contribute to her projects.
“I never hesitate to ask her,” she asserted. “…When I include someone I care about, it’s because I adore them. I prefer that method of operation. That kind of emotion is enjoyable for me. She is my heart, therefore having her there meant a lot to me.
The famous actress and her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, have a daughter together named Suri. Speculation persists that Suri’s alleged rift with the Top Gun actor would heal once she attains legal adulthood. Leah Remini, an actress and former Scientologist, has stated her belief that Cruise would attempt to recruit Suri to his controversial church.
Remini speculated that her daughter’s father’s ultimate goal was to separate Suri from her mother by luring her into Scientology when she was older.
April is Suri’s 18th birthday. We can’t say for sure when or if these predictions will come true, but by April, Suri will resemble her mom even more than she does now.
