When it comes to massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), RuneScape is a household name that continues to draw in new players and entice veteran players to revisit the famous fantasy realm of Gielinor. The game is constantly receiving new content updates and stealthy hotfixes.
RuneScape has endured for so long because of its memorable missions, many of which were original and ground-breaking at the time. Since one of Jagex’s strengths is narrative, we’ve compiled a list of the most memorable missions from RuneScape 3 that fans will remember fondly.

Our Favorite Quests
The Cook’s Assistant is one of the most well-known and beloved free-to-play tasks in RuneScape. When RuneScape first came out in 2001, it was one of only six missions players could embark on. A celebration cake honoring Duke Horacio has to be baked, and the Cook at Lumbridge Castle needs some assistance from the players. Lumbridge is the hub of the beginner RuneScape experience.
The player must go across Lumbridge in search of high-quality milk, an extra-large egg, and a jar of extra-fine flour. After gathering these items, the player may return to the Cook to get their prize. This is an easy mission that will give new players a taste of the questing in RuneScape.
The Grand Exchange and other RuneScape mainstays may be found in Varrock, a popular destination for new players. The Shield of Arrav is only one of the many easy-to-follow missions available in Varrock. The hero’s mission is to track down a renowned shield that was stolen in two halves by rival gangs in the city. In order to bring the shield back to its former grandeur, the player must team up with these two factions.
In keeping with the cooperative nature of massively multiplayer online games, this mission could only be completed with the aid of a friend. The player could only join a single clan and get half of their shield; their companion had to go find the other half. RuneScape 3 introduced significant changes to this task in 2017. However, this quest is unchanged in its Old School RuneScape iteration.
The first quest on this list, “Cook’s Assistant,” was followed by “Recipe for Disaster,” the 100th quest issued by Jagex. The mission is of “special” difficulty and is broken up into ten smaller tasks, each of which requires the accomplishment of a number of other quests before it can be started. Beginners may get a head start on it, but only experienced RuneScape players should attempt to finish it.
Lumbridge’s Cook is preparing a feast for the Lumbridge secret council, which is the basis of Recipe for Disaster. The gathering is disrupted, however, as the Culinaromancer launches an attack on all of the attendees. In order to defeat the Culinaromancer, the player must first put their cooking talents to the test by preparing each council member’s favorite dish in order to restore their health.
Seventh in the lengthy Vampyres of Morytania and Myreque questline is Branches of Darkmeyer. In order to advance in this mission, the player must first win respect and favor among the vampire metropolis of Darkmeyer.

With the legendary Gods’ return to Gielinor, this event seals the Fifth Age’s conclusion and ushers in the Sixth Age.
This quest has a lot of backstory for players to delve into, as well as difficult puzzles and intense boss encounters with unique mechanics. The completion of this task will solidify the player’s role as The World Guardian. This quest exemplifies all RuneScape has to offer and is sure to be enjoyed by players of all skill levels.
